How to dispose of your used Mounjaro

It is important to dispose of your KwikPen and pen needle tips or your vial and syringes safely. To do this, place your KwikPen and pen needle tips or your vial and syringes in a sharps container or similar puncture-proof container composed of hard plastic or glass immediately after use.

  • Do not dispose of your KwikPen and pen needle tips or you vial and syringes in your household rubbish.
  • Keep your KwikPen, pen needle tips or your vial, syringes and sharps container or similar puncture-proof container out of the reach of children.
  • Do not dispose of or recycle your used sharps container in your household rubbish. Ask your doctor for information on safe disposal of your sharps container or similar puncture-proof container.

Going on a trip?

Mounjaro can last unrefrigerated for up to 21 days when in a single-use vial, or up to 30 days when in a KwikPen. Just make sure the temperature doesn’t get any higher than 30oC.
