It is best to store your Mounjaro in the original carton in the refrigerator until you are ready to inject your dose. You should administer your dose as soon as you remove your Mounjaro from the refrigerator. It is not necessary to warm your Mounjaro single-use vial or multi-use KwikPen to room temperature before use. However, your Mounjaro may be kept at room temperature for up to 1 hour (indoor light exposure only) before administering your dose.1
Tell your doctor, pharmacist or diabetes nurse educator if you are planning to travel overseas. You may not be able to get Mounjaro in the country you are visiting, and you may need to carry a letter explaining why you are taking injecting devices with you. Your doctor, pharmacist or diabetes nurse educator can provide you with some helpful information.1,2

Each pre-filled KwikPen contains 3 mL of solution, including 4 doses of 0.6 mL. Each 0.6 mL dose contains the appropriate amount of tirzepatide depending on the dose strength – for example, in the 2.5 mg KwikPen, each dose (0.6 ml) contains 2.5 mg of tirzepatide.3 Additional solution in the KwikPen is used for priming.
After the fourth dose of tirzepatide, the KwikPen mechanism prevents further solution from being injected from the device – the number of clicks is limited by the KwikPen. At this point there will be some leftover solution that remains within the KwikPen but cannot be injected – this is expected.
When the plunger is level with the last marker (closest to the needle), this means that the fourth and final dose has been delivered from the pen.

This is normal and will not affect your dose.3
Replace the outer needle shield of your KwikPen, unscrew the capped needle tip and dispose of it in a sharps container or similar puncture-proof container. Replace the cap on your Mounjaro KwikPen and return your KwikPen to appropriate storage at 2oC–8oC in a refrigerator, or up to a total of 30 days at room temperature (below 30oC) if refrigeration is unavailable.2,3
- After your fourth dose, dispose of your Mounjaro KwikPen (including any residue) in a yellow plastic sharps container or similar puncture-proof container composed of hard plastic or glass. Ask your doctor for further information.3
- Do not throw your used KwikPen and capped needle tips directly into your household rubbish or recycling.3
- Do not dispose of or recycle your used sharps container in your household rubbish. Ask your doctor for information on safe disposal of your sharps container.3
- If your doctor tells you to stop taking Mounjaro, or

If you no longer need to use this medicine or it is out of date, take it to any pharmacy for safe disposal.1,2
Your doctor may have supplies of these for you to use with your Mounjaro.1,2 Alternatively, you can purchase these at most pharmacies. Fees and charges may apply.
