How to manage side effects
As with all medicines, you may experience side effects with Mounjaro. The most common side effects with Mounjaro are nausea and diarrhoea.1,2 These side effects are usually only mild to moderate and decrease over time in most patients. They are most common when first starting Mounjaro or when the dose is increased.1,2 Please refer to the Consumer Medicine Information (CMI) leaflet that came with your Mounjaro for a full list of side effects that may occur with Mounjaro.1,2
Tips for managing nausea
If you have nausea after taking Mounjaro, talk to your doctor. In the meantime, these tips may help:3

If you experience or have ever experienced any of the following, please speak to your doctor immediately:1,2
- Severe pain in the stomach and back that does not go away, and vomiting and/or diarrhoea. These can be signs of pancreatitis (inflammation of your pancreas).
- An allergic reaction after taking this medicine. Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include rashes, itching and rapid swelling of the tissues of the neck, face, mouth and/or throat, hives, or problems breathing or swallowing
- Gallbladder complaints, including gallstones or an inflamed gallbladder. Symptoms of gallbladder complaints may include sudden, severe pain in your upper stomach (abdomen), fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), or clay-coloured stools.
