We won't weight

Let's end the stigma
Obesity is a chronic disease that impacts many aspects of a person’s life.1,2 For too long, stigma and misunderstanding have overshadowed the experiences of those living with the disease.
[We open with Dr Steven Lu sat on a stool.]
[SUPER: Dr Steven Lu, General Practitioner]
Dr Steven Lu: Obesity is actually a chronic and complex disease, that is multifactorial…
[Dr Steven Lu’s frame freezes for a split second. A green background panel and pink super start fill the frame, with each letter expanding and extending to fill each line.]
[SUPER: “MULTIFACTORIAL”]
Voiceover: Multifactorial. Means one approach was never going to work.
[SUPER: MEANS ONE APPROACH]
[SUPER: WAS NEVER GOING TO WORK]
[We cut back to Dr Steven Lu sitting on a stool.]
Dr Steven Lu: Obesity as a disease is often grossly oversimplified
[SUPER: “GENETICS PLAYS A ROLE”]
Voiceover: Genetics plays a role.
[SUPER: YET WE’VE BEEN OVERSIMPLIFYING IT]
Voiceover: Yet we’ve been oversimplifying it.
[The ‘OVERSIMPLIFYING IT’ super repeats tightly in a compressed block in the corner.]
[An arrow aggressively extends into the frame.]
Voiceover: Up to 80% of obesity is linked to genetics.
[SUPER: UP TO 80% OF OBESITY IS LINKED TO GENETICS1,2]
[The ‘UP TO 80%’ super repeats within the arrow, with letters sliding and moving. The ‘80%’ super scales dramatically to dominate half the frame.]
[SUPER: SOOOOO]
Voiceover: So why do we still think it’s only about will power?
[SUPER: WHY DO WE STILL THINK IT’S ONLY ABOUT WILL POWER?]
[A transition pushes in from right of screen to left – background changes from green to pink.]
Voiceover: Might be time to talk to a doctor
[SUPER: MIGHT BE TIME TO TALK TO A DOCTOR]
[Background panel flicks to full green.]
Voiceover: We won’t weight. Will you?
[SUPER: WE won’t WEIGHT. Will you? Talk to your doctor today.]
[A new super appears in a search bar.]
[SUPER: search we won’t weight]

You are not alone
Many Australians struggle with weight-related issues that go beyond the weight itself. It’s important to remember you are not alone. Australian statistics show about 2 in 3 adults are living with overweight or obesity.3
A recent 2025 survey of 1,005 Australians aged 18 years and over, living with overweight or obesity, highlighted the impact weight can have on many aspects of life, from mental health to travel.4
Break free from the cycle
If you're frustrated with your weight management journey, support and resources are available. Our questionnaire helps you understand your weight and health by guiding you through key questions, so you can have a more informed conversation with your doctor about weight management.
You don’t need to wait. Talk to a doctor.
It's time for real change in weight management. Time to replace judgement with empathy by recognising obesity as a legitimate chronic disease that requires ongoing care and support.1,2
